As per the statement issued by her office, the meeting was held to discuss problems being faced by villagers from Ahire, Shivne, Kopre, Uttamnagar as well as Kondhwe Dhawde. “During the meeting, a decision was taken to appoint a representative for the villages to take up their issues with concerned authorities. The NDA officials are also positive about the bus stop at Mokarwadi. The security of NDA and rights of villagers, both are important,” the statement said.
According to the villagers, NDA has allowed them access through Gate No. 10 but time period has been reduced. Now, they are allowed from 5 am to 10.30 pm. They face problems in taking their animals out, besides inconveniences in going to their village deity.
After the protest last month, NDA issued a statement, “NDA is a premier institution with a lot of security threats from anti-national elements. Therefore, this boundary wall around the NDA was constructed. Earlier, all the villagers had uncontrolled access, but because of security reasons, the wall has been undertaken and the villagers have been given controlled access. As per request, we give pick-up and drop to villagers. In such cases, the municipal administration and district collectorate should give alternate road from Kudaje. The villagers should meet the civil authorities. They should respect NDA as an institution.”
